Advocate FAQs

What do we do with our child?
This varies depending on the age and needs of the child. Outings range from sporting activities, museum and movie visits, walks, time in the library or on school work, to name a few. The most important thing, however, is to spend consistent, quality time getting to know your child.

How much time do we need to spend with our child?
Each case and situation is different, but most Advocates visit their child once a week and spend an average of 10 hours a month with them.

Do we select the child we work with?
Yes. We help direct you to cases that might be a good fit, but you ultimately decide.

I don't know much about the court system or social services.
Does that matter?

Not at all. We provide a very thorough training that will introduce you to many areas that affect the lives of our children. Additionally, once an Advocate, you receive constant support and supervision from our staff.
